- Bags an unprecedented 7 awards across 5 subsidiaries
- Adjudged overall winners in 5 categories, merit awards in 3 sectors
Iconic Sri Lankan multi-national Hayleys PLC, recorded another stellar performance with the group companies bringing home a total of 7 awards, at the recently concluded Presidential Export Awards 2019.
The Group’s pioneering activated carbon manufacturing and exporting arm, Haycarb PLC topped the list at this year’s ceremony, having been adjudged Overall Winners in the categories of Innovative Export Product of the Year and Organic Product Exporter of the Year, in recognition of its breakthrough efforts to supply material for the super-capacitor or Electric Double Layer Capacitor (EDLC) coconut carbon to the world-famous electric car manufacturer Tesla. Haycarb was also able to secure a Merit Certificate in the Coconut Shell Product Sector.
Two other Hayleys companies – Dipped Products PLC and HJS Condiments (Pvt) Ltd. – a subsidiary of Hayleys Agriculture PLC – were also adjudged Best Exporter in their respective categories of Latex Products and Processed Vegetables, Fruits and Juices.
Similarly, Hayleys Fabric PLC and Quality Seed Company (Pvt) Ltd, a subsidiary of Hayleys Agriculture, also secured merit awards in the Textile and Floriculture Sectors respectively.

The Presidential Export Awards are considered among the most prestigious national level awards open to the Sri Lankan corporate sector. Award nominees are evaluated by an eminent panel of judges appointed by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), with only the best and most innovative exporters, being selected based on significant and outstanding contributions to the development of Sri Lankan exports and the wider national economy.
Established in 1878 by Chas. P.
