Hayleys PLC, Sri Lanka’s largest and most diversified conglomerate, emerged triumphant by winning the coveted ‘Cyril Gardiner Memorial Trophy’ Gold Award for Overall Excellence in Annual Financial Reporting at the grand finale of the the 54th Annual Report Awards.
Organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), the 54th Annual Report Awards was held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo under the patronage of Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy, the Governor of Central Bank.
Hayleys PLC also won gold under the ‘Management Commentary Award’.
Under the sector awards, Hayleys PLC shared the ‘Lal Jayasundara Memorial Trophy’ gold award for ‘Diversified Holdings (Groups above 10 Subsidiaries)’ with John Keells Holdings.
As a group, Hayleys Group bagged a total of 12 awards.
Hayleys Advantis Ltd., the transportation and logistics arm of Hayleys, won gold under the Service Organisations sector.
Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC won the gold under the ‘Trading Companies’ sector while Singer Finance (Lanka) PLC won the gold award under the ‘Finance Companies & Leasing Companies (Total Assets up to LKR 20 BN)’ sector.
Hayleys won top awards under the ‘Plantations Companies’ sector with Talawakelle Tea Estates PLC winning gold and Kelani Valley Plantations winning the silver award.
The gold award under the ‘Manufacturing Companies (Turnover above LKR 5 BN)’ sector was shared by Dipped Products PLC while Hayleys Fabric PLC won the silver.
Alumex PLC also shared the gold award under the ‘Manufacturing Companies (Turnover up to LKR 5 BN)’ sector while Regnis (Lanka) PLC won silver.
