Hayleys PLC emerged victorious at the recently concluded ACCA Sustainability Reporting Awards 2023, clinching the coveted Overall Winner Award and affirming its position as a leader in sustainability reporting in Sri Lanka. Hayleys PLC was also adjudged the Winner of the Diversified and Conglomerates Category while subsidiaries Hayleys Fabric PLC and Horana Plantations PLC were ranked Winner and Joint Runner-up in the Retail and Trading Category respectively. These achievements bear testimony to the Group’s efforts to embed sustainability practices across its strategy, processes and decision-making in a strategic manner.
Having launched its holistic ESG Roadmap, the Hayleys Lifecode, in 2022 the Group has proactively sought to strengthen its sustainability governance mechanisms, strategic interventions and performance monitoring as it strives to achieve its environmental, social and governance aspirations. Sectors are also aligned to the short, medium and long-term direction of the Hayleys Lifecode and relevant Sustainable Development Goals through Sector-level ESG roadmaps.

Hayleys has consistently strived to enhance the relevance, readability and quality of its sustainability reporting through embracing global best practices and aligning with international sustainability and ESG reporting frameworks. In addition to reporting in accordance with the GRI Standards (2021) and the International Integrated Reporting <IR> Framework, Hayleys also commenced reporting aligned with the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and 8 industry standards of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board.
